Brand Ambassador
One of the accomplishments I'm most proud of this year was leading Purist Collective's partnership with Kelly Slater. This was the first brand ambassadorship I had ever managed, and to have that experience alongside one of the most accomplished athletes of all time was both an honor and an incredible learning opportunity.
As the marketing lead on the project, I developed the overall partnership strategy, messaging framework, website experience, and launch plan. I created the creative brief for photography, provided direction to the video editor, and developed the content themes that guided the storytelling throughout the campaign. I also sourced and managed our PR agency, helping secure media opportunities and extend the reach of the partnership beyond our owned channels.
In addition, I was responsible for managing Kelly's integration into the brand across marketing channels, ensuring the partnership felt authentic to both his philosophy and Purist's values. From concept development to execution, I oversaw the many moving pieces required to bring the partnership to life and create a cohesive brand experience across web, social, PR, email, and retailer communications.
Working alongside Kelly and helping shape this partnership from the ground up was a career milestone that challenged me to grow as a marketer, strategist, and leader while delivering one of the most impactful initiatives for the brand.
One of my favorite parts of the partnership was developing the website experience and messaging. It was a unique challenge to stay true to Purist's brand voice while thoughtfully incorporating Kelly's perspective, values, and authenticity into the story.
Rather than simply promoting a partnership, the goal was to create messaging that felt natural and aligned, reflecting a shared philosophy around quality, intentionality, and performance. Finding that balance and bringing both voices together in a cohesive way was one of the most rewarding aspects of the project.
